My Kirkjubæjarklaustur Iceland Waterfall Couples Photos

My husband and I visited Iceland for the very first time back in August 2024. Iceland had been on my travel bucketlist for YEARS, and it was so surreal being able to visit last year! But I’ll chat about all the details of our trip in another blog post – let me show you how magical my Kirkjubæjarklaustur Iceland Waterfall Couples Photos!

My good friend and photography coach, Kelsey Converse, also happened to be visiting Iceland at the same time, and she offered to take our couples photos for us at a lesser-known waterfall just a little drive away from Kirkjubæjarklaustur!

Garrett and I left our hotel in Reykjavik at about 3:30am, so we could meet Kelsey at this waterfall over by her airbnb in Kirkjubæjarklaustur – I’m not gonna lie, I was passed out in the passenger seat for most of the drive. Shoutout to Garrett for driving all around Iceland!

We met Kelsey a couple hours later, and got to witness this waterfall for the very first time! We had this waterfall to ourselves (which can be rare in South Iceland!) and could hear the water from the small parking lot. The wind is WHIPPIN’ (if there’s one thing you should know about Iceland, it’s that the wind can be WILD) and while it wasn’t too strong, it definitely made it a bit chilly!

I remember seeing it as we were walking up and it truly felt like something pulled right out of the Throne of Glass books (if you know me, you know that’s my favorite series of all time). It also reminded me of the trolls in Frozen.

I was also SO excited to wear my new Icelandic wool sweater I found in a thrift shop in Reykjavik a couple days beforehand!

And now we have photos that we can forever look back on (with both of us in them) and photos from one of my absolutely favorite places ever to decorate our home with.
