If you're wanting to elope in Iceland, you need to be flexible! The weather can get crazy, roads can close, etc. Coming in with a flexible mind helps to make pivots! You'll also want to make time to stop at random stops along the roads - trust me!

Does the thought of having to do all the paperwork in a foreign country stress you out?! Consider a symbolic ceremony, where you legally get married back home but still exchange your vows in Iceland! Practically all of my couples who elope in Iceland do this.

What's your game plan for inclement weather?
Great question! Eloping out in nature means you may come across unpredictable and constantly changing weather, but there’s things we can do in case this happens!
In most cases, we can embrace the weather by being prepared! This can look like having backup plans (which I take care of for you), being flexible with your timeline, having proper gear, etc.
If the weather is too dangerous to be in, we’ll look at rescheduling! Which is why I build in extra free days into my schedule, just in case this does happen ;)
I also offer rain day coverage which means we can set aside the day before and/or the day after, just in case we need to pivot to one of those days instead.
What is the best time to elope in Iceland?
Great question!! This will depend on your vision and what matters most to you, but here are my favorite months for Iceland elopement! One thing to note is that you can get crazy weather in ANY month :)
July: Peak summer, the warmest temps you can find (up to 68 degrees), and endless days of sunshine!
August: My second favorite month to spend in Iceland! It's definitely still summer but the nights are coming back, so many days of sun, and moderate weather.
September: This is my favorite month! Looking for some gorgeous fall colors and fewer tourists?! Fall might be the perfect time! But be aware that it can be windy, wet, and cold! The average temperatures are 32-50 degrees F.
How do we see the northern lights for our elopement?
Soooo you wanna see the infamous Lady A on your elopement 😏HELLL YEAH!!
So the thing about the northern lights is that they’re unpredictable!! They come and go as they want, but you have a high probability of seeing them in Iceland during the right season.
If you’re in the peak summer months when the sun doesn’t really set, you won’t have a chance to see them, since you need a completely dark sky. However, I’ve seen them at the end of August before! (Where the sun sets around 10-10:30pm)

The best months to catch the Northern Lights are September - March!
How much planning do you actually help us with?

Absolutely! If it’s important to you both to have some of your loved ones present, then absolutely bring them along :)
Why should we have a full-day experience?
I truly believe 4 hours is the minimum amount of coverage needed to document your elopement experience, because anything less than that is going to feel extremely rushed… which leads to stress.
When you have a full day or even a multi-day elopement, that’s really when your elopement experience becomes SO much more than just a ceremony and some gorgeous photos. There’s so many possibilities to fill your day with things you love, maybe new activities you want to try, and having SO much freedom to be spontaneous with that.
Why should we hire you for our Iceland elopement?
As an American who has lived through traveling all over Iceland, I totally get your excitement for visiting Iceland and taking in all the raw nature it offers. I'm there to be JUST as excited as you, checking out these gorgeous places for the first time & giving you all the information you need. And now, I focus on traveling to Iceland for multiple weeks a year.
Now, from living in both Minnesota and Wisconsin, I’m used to the severe weather we get here, which helps me be more prepared for the unpredictable Icelandic weather. I have quite literally been in the middle of a wedding where we have to seek shelter from severe storms and tornadoes. At home, we can get up to -50 degrees in the winter with 40-50mph winds at times. Consider me experienced in some wild weather!!
I am extremely intentional about where my money goes when I travel. I make sure I'm supporting local small businesses & artists, and pouring into the local economy. As well as supporting the parks, ethical outdoor experience businesses, etc.
My specialty is incorporating the natural landscape & beauty around you while also documenting all the special moments you share on your elopement day - which is exactly how you’ll want to remember your elopement in Iceland!
What if we’re awkward in photos?
Would you believe me if I said this is a common question I get from ALL couples?! Because it is! And I am literally ALWAYS shocked when they’re in front of my camera, just being absolute MODELS! Like what, you don’t even look awkward!
That being said, it really helps when I take the time to get to know you. And we have so much back-and-forth communication that by the time your elopement day arrives, you’re much more comfortable with me! Which translates to being in front of the camera.
I’m also here to gently guide you both, if you need a little guidance for photos.
EXPERT TIP: Plan out activities throughout the day, because having activities where you’re just naturally doing something together? That makes for beautiful photos of the two of you without feeling like you’re “on” in front of the camera
