North Shore MN Engagement Photos

North Shore MN Engagement Photos on Black Beach

The North Shore of MN is one of my absolute favorite places for engagement photos. There’s so many different places you can adventure to with so many different vibes and kinds of scenery. It’s such a magical place, especially for couples who feel connected and grounded while being out in nature. Erin and Joe’s North Shore MN Engagement Photos is proof of that!

Best North Shore MN Engagement Locations

  • Split Rock State Park
  • Gooseberry Falls State Park
  • Black Beach
  • Palisade Head
  • Tettegouche State Park
  • Temperance River State Park
  • Lutsen Mountains

Tips for Engagement Photos on the North Shore in MN

  1. Timing is going to be everything: the North Shore can be pretty busy, especially on weekends from June to October. If you’re wanting more privacy and intimacy, you’ll want to plan for early morning and/or on a weekday.
  2. Dress for the weather: it can be cold, so make sure you bring layers. You don’t want to under estimate the wind on Lake Superior.
  3. Choose the right shoes: you want shoes that are both comfy and stylish! Consider your location(s) when choosing your footwear – if you’re going be walking amongst the rocks, you probably don’t want to hear high heels!

Erin & Joe’s North Shore MN Engagement Photos

Erin and Joe are eloping in Minneapolis in June 2025, but they wanted to incorporate the north shore somehow into their story – so they decided to meet me up on Black Beach last fall! It was a special time, because this was their first time actually seeing Black Beach in person. Knowing this, I made sure to include a lot of epic wide shots to really encapsulate the scenery for them.

Keep scrolling to take a closer look at their engagement session! You don’t want to miss the rainbow that nature gave them during their session 😉
