Black Beach MN Elopement \\ North Shore Minnesota Elopement
When you think about a beautiful elopement, your first thought is probably along the lines of: “we have to travel somewhere “popular” for a pretty elopement (like Utah or California) but let me just say… that’s a wrong assumption 😘 Minnesota’s very own North Shore has gotten popular over the last couple of years and is full of beautiful locations for the perfect elopement day. Kayleigh and Gage’s Black Beach MN Elopement will make you fall in love with Minnesota’s North Shore and even inspire you as you and your partner dream about the perfect elopement.
Why Kayleigh + Gage Decided to Elope on Black Beach
“We had been engaged since 2019. We are both introverts with small families, and coupled with the pandemic, eloping sounded perfect for us!” Kayleigh also grew up in Two Harbors, MN, so Kayleigh was definitely familiar with the area! They were truly so excited to get married in the midst of Minnesota’s beauty.

How Do You Elope at Black Beach on Minnesota’s North Shore?
Since Black Beach is actually public land, there is no permit needed to have your elopement at the beach!! With that being said, you won’t be able to close off the beach for your elopement. This beach gets crazy busy during the summer, especially at sunset and on weekends!! If you’re wanting to elope at this beach, I highly recommend picking a day of the week (like Mondays or Tuesdays) or eloping at sunrise/early morning to avoid the crowds!
The only thing you need to do legally is get your marriage license in Lake County, which spans from Two Harbors and past Silver Bay. There are many county clerk offices in the county to get your marriage license at!
If you are hoping to bring decor items such as a rug and an arch, please be mindful of the other guests on the beach and clean up after yourself! Don’t leave anything hanging around. I highly recommend going light on the decor so you don’t take away from the natural beauty on the beach!
