Merry Christmas Eve! I seriously cannot believe there’s only a few more days left in 2019. 2019 has been such an amazing year full of love, growth, and all the things. I cannot imagine how incredible 2020 is going to be!

Just a small update – Italy is incredible!! It’s so rich with art and history. Oh, and the food is pretty good! And the weather? ?
My favorite food so far? GELATO! ?

I have one word for you my friends. TRAVEL!
If you have the opportunity do travel whether it’s to a different state or different country – DO. IT! ?? I promise you won’t regret it. Seeing other parts of the world and learning different cultures is absolutely amazing. Literally, nothing compares. Going to Italy made me realize a few different things like their coffee is the bomb (even vending machine coffee. Can you believe that?!), that we need to save energy and be more green, and so much more. ?

Hello, hello!
Since I have sooo many new lovely people following me, I thought it would be a good time to reintroduce myself!

So hello there! I’m Sam and it’s so nice to meet you! I’m a lifestyle photographer that’s based in New Richmond, WI, but travel around the area! I’m married to Garrett Burke, and it’s almost our one year anniversary actually! He’s been so supportive and amazing. We have our fur babies, Aleu and Leilani. Aleu is our 7-year-old rescue husky and we’re so honored we had the opportunity to adopt her and make sure the last half of her life is amazing! Leilani isn’t a year yet, but she’s our spunky kitty! Let’s just say… she loves to lick you as if she were a dog!

I’m addicted to Target, Starbucks, and Pinterest! I also love, love, love anything with pineapples! Literally, I have probably 1739382 pineapples in my home…  and one last fun fact about me – I am a travel-bug! I want to go anywhere and everywhere, 24/7. I recently went to Italy and am already dying to go back!

Now I’ve been following @jennakutchersince around Christmas of 2018 and she’s been soo inspirational ever since, in soo many ways including loving myself. 
She has helped me incorporate amazing things into my business to give all of you lovelies an AMAZING experience with me! But she’s also helped me be motivated and inspired. ?

@jennakutcher is a boss-babe and her podcast (@goaldiggerpodcast) has been life-changing for me. She has taught me about just showing up for all of you, loving myself and my body, and just all the things. ??? ?

Cali and Tucker were a little nervous at the beginning of their engagement session. After the first 10 minutes, they were cracking jokes with each other, being soooo darn adorable, and romantically kissing! I love not posing my couples. I’m all about promoting you to get you to naturally laugh, and naturally be romantic and passionate.

And?! Your man ALWAYS ends up admitting it was fun!! I think my favorite prompt has to be “Purr like a sexy cat!”

Can we talk about engagement sessions for a hot second? ? 

Engagement sessions are SO important when it comes to hiring your photographer! I know it may seem silly to hire a professional for a couple of photos for your save the date cards – but there’s sooo much more to it!!

This is your chance to make sure that your wedding photographer is a good fit for you! You will see more of your photographer’s style, what to expect, if you guys vibe together, if they’re outgoing, etc.

Consider your engagement session a little of a “trial run” so to speak. You will get to know your photographer before your big day and that eliminates so much worry and anxiety. You won’t be wondering, “Are they nice? Do they like to have fun? Are they going to pose us or prompt us? Can they guide us with direction?” ?

With my whole heart, I strongly believe in booking an engagement session with your wedding photographer. You seriously won’t regret it!

What is an Intimate Elopement?

An intimate elopement is perfect for the couple that wants to be adventurous, travel to a new location, and be able to profess your love in an intimate setting. Couples will need to only need 2-3 hours of photography (for the ceremony and then bride + groom photos) and that’s it.

Your ceremony will typically be 15-30 minutes long. 
The number of guests is typically just the bride, groom, officiant, photographer, and sometimes a couple witnesses. That’s literally it!! No wedding party either!!

The planning is very minimal! Elopements are more spontaneous and don’t involve a lot of planning or details! I personally swoon over intimate elopements. I’m seriously all about that messy hair in the wind, dirt on the dress, and traveling to all the amazing places in the world.

If an intimate elopement sounds like your jam, then just go for it!! This is all about you and your babe – nothing else.
