The Dunn Family | Baudette Minnesota |

Okay – I am still GUSHING over this session! As I traveled up to Baudette, MN, to spend the weekend with my family, I had the idea of looking for a family to have a laid-back shoot at Zippel Bay State Park.

Tracy reached out to me – and totally thought it was a joke! I mean, I can’t really blame her… I was advertising for a free session!

Fast-forward to a whole day later – we met at Zippel Bay and the whole session was just magical. We were totally alone on the beach, it wasn’t too cold, and there were no bugs! I mean, that’s pretty spectacular up in Baudette.

The Dunn Family was so beautiful and fun to work with. They’re totally adventurous and laid-back – which I TOTALLY love! Their little one, Spencer, even experienced touching Lake of The Woods and being snuggled tightly by mom and dad. She also LOVED to point out all the little birds.

Their pup wasn’t totally into the photo session – so she decided to do some zoomies up and down the beach and go on her own adventure! I must admit that I totally admire that.

Throughout the session, we laughed and created special memories. I prompted them to slow dance, drunk walk, and just hold their little one close to them. I mean – how perfect, am I right?

At the very end, Tracy popped a bottle of champagne to just celebrate life! Life is beautiful and amazing and it deserves to be celebrated!

I met Samantha the end of May 2019 and in kind of a funny way… I saw this post on facebook that looked too good to be true, so I disregarded it. The next day, I saw it again on my newsfeed liked by another local friend. So I decided to reach out to the photographer’s page and ask about it. We laughed at it being questioned and I learned there wasn’t a catch.
I was lucky enough to be picked for a free shoot out at Zippel Bay with my husband, daughter and pup and that included three free prints!
We had never met Samantha but we are so glad that we have now! She is so professional and kind. She has great prompts to get the best shots. She worked so well with a guy that doesn’t really feel most comfortable infront of the lense, a 9 month old, an energetic wiener dog, and was a huge help to me as I tried to coordinate (but not match) our outfits!
The photos are absolutlely beautiful and we will cherish them forever. I was really impressed with her work; especially since we were just a “free shoot”… she didn’t skimp on us at all and that shows a lot. We definietly recommend her and would hire her again.
She also made a sweet video keepsake that was a nice extra touch.
